Pot Lid – James Atkinson’s Bears Grease.
This is lid is approx. 3” across and is a pot lid advertising James Atkinson’s Bears Grease which in Victorian times was used on the hair as I think a tonic and restorative.
It is in very good condition and while I bought this lid with a number of Victorian pot lids I am told it is most likely one of the excellent copies made in the early 1970's.
This copy is so good Unless you are an expert in pot lids you probably would never be able to tall this as a copy.
As Original Bear Grease lids sell for very good money this is a nice gap filler unless you have deep pockets and can find an original.
