Seventeenth Century Jingdezhen Porcelain From The Shanghai Museum and The Butler Collections

An extraordinary variety of beautiful and interesting porcelain was made at Jingdezhen in the 17th century. This catalog is published to coincide with the exhibition held from November 2005 to February 2006 at the T. T. Tsui Gallery of Chinese Ceramics, Shanghai Museum. The exhibition is equally composed of pieces from the Butler Collection and the Shanghai Museum. The examples start from the Tianqi period and extend to the Kangxi reign. Included are wares of blue and white, underglaze red and blue, wucai, constructing-colors, and monochrome. All the ceramics are arranged chronologically and divided into seven sections.
