Polynesia

Showing the islands, atolls and relationships between the peoples of the various islands.

Just under A3 size, measuring 39 x 27 cm in total.

This map is an old book plate which has been taken from a defunct copy of the ninth edition of the Encylopaedia Britannica Dictionary of Arts, Sciences and General Literature, volume XIX, published 1885. The map formed a double page and was folded down the centre and attached to the rest of the pages by a paper hinge on the back, so there are no holes down the centre fold and the map folds out completely flat.

In very good condition, apart from very slight yellowing.
