Another lamp from dads collection, he says this is the best example of a BR locomotive head lamp he has seen and in superb condition for age.
 
The Lamp is made by Polkey Birmingham as the nice brass badge proclaims, in his engineering experience he has found lamps made by Polkey were of the highest quality, and this lamp is no exception, the build quality being much higher than other makers, the lens is particular bright and clear with only the smallest of marks, the neat precise bends on the handle and the nice "BR" oval badge in place of the usual stamping all add up to a stunning looking lamp.
 
Correct draught-proof vessel inside with BR batswing burner and red flip over lens so the lamp could be used as a tail lamp. This style was used on the BR Eastern and Southern Regions.
