The POCKETMAP PMG-205 "mini-mouse type" GPS is a 20-channel GPS receiver designed based on SiRF Star III Architecture. The PMG-205 GPS comes with a “Y-cable” car charger/adapter that plugs into the car’s cigarette light adapter to power the GPS receiver over a 2-meter long extension cord while charging the Pocket PC simultaneously through a serial adapter interface that is custom for each Pocket PC model.  The PMG-200 GPS supports the industry-standard NMEA 0183 protocol (Version 2.20) for communicating position information to the Pocket PC PDA once every second  via compatible dual-channel through RS-232 or TTL and saves critical satellite data using built-in backup memory. With low power consumption, the PMG-205 tracks up to 20 satellites at a time, re-acquiring satellite signals in 100 ms and updates position data every second. Trickle-Power allows the unit to operate at a fraction of the time and Push-to-Fix permits users to have a quick position fix even though the receiver usually stays off.  When used with POCKETMAP NAVIGATOR software, the PMG-205 is an ideal GPS navigation device equally suited for city driving as well as for cross-country trips.
