For sale: Up for Sale is for (1) one healthy fresh rhizome and only will be dug out from the mother plant in the photo. As this is a mature plant division, it will be much easier to grow after planting care. This rhizome will be trim to a height of about 30cm height with some roots for easy packing and shipping.

This is one of the world's most splendid flowers, Etlingera Elatior is native to South East Asia. The species is known for it's long flower stems and thick, waxy, brightly colored bracts. Colors range from powder white to deep reds and maroons with mace shaped blooms.

The torches of this variety produce a large pink head. It will give you one of the most brilliant flowers imaginable with a dazzling display of bracts in a bright pink cone shape. The flower is about 25 cm across and is borne on a 1.5 meter leafless stem that arises straight out of the ground. Has a smooth textured, broad, dark green leaves. Its inflorescence makes like the Pink  Torch Ginger a good cut flower. When the flower has finished a decorative seed head spike remains.

Not frost or cold tolerant. Very easy to grow. Best grown in full sun and needs plenty of warmth and well drained conditions or indoors. Requires consistently moist soil so do not let it dry out between watering. Water freely and feed monthly in growing season. It should be planted in a rich soil high in organic matter. Excellent for the greenhouse but needs high humidity and artificial light.

It is very important to plant the plant right away in your designated area in your yard, or in a large potting plant (pot depth should be at least 1-2 ft deep) upon receiving.  All you have to do is to pot it in high compost medium and fertilize with organic fertilizer frequently.
