- Japan CD release date information -

Japanese CDs are printed with a release date on the back of the CD and/or on the Obi. The dates are generally written as: 92.5.23 (year.month.day). However, for some CDs released in the 1980s & 1990s a letter represents the year. This can be confusing for collectors wondering what year certain editions of Japan CDs were released. To be sure the CD you are bidding on is in fact a 1st pressing or an early pressing, ask for the information or request to see a photo of the date marking. I hope this was helpful for both buyers and sellers of Japanese CDs.
