At The Divan Centre we have built a reputation for honesty and describe our mattresses not by manufacturers marketing but by how long they would last me, for our Leeds deliveries we provide a "disposal of the old mattress" service for a small fee (£10 for a mattress, £20 for a full bed) so after all these years not only do I see new mattresses but I know how they stand up to wear and tear. I am 177 cm (5'10"ish) tall medium build and weigh about 75 kg (about 12 stone).

Radar: is not just a "Free mattress" that you can feel every lump and bump when it is new but is suitable for an adult to sleep on.Radar has a 13.5 gauge spring unit covered with felt padding and is 7" deep. For an adult of my size I would expect a Radar mattress to give me 12 months service.
Verve: Moving up from Radar our Verve (8" deep) mattress has a stronger spring which will enable it to last longer before sagging occurs and has an extra felt pad layer to prevent the feel of springs coming through as quickly. Verve also has a damask cover for extra durability and a smarter look. For an adult of my size I would expect a Verve mattress to give me 2 to 3 years service.
Beauty Ortho: Uses a stronger 12.5 gauge spring which makes for a very firm (9" deep) "Orthopaedic" type of mattress. The stronger spring is covered by harder wearing padding and a cream damask cover, If you would like a strong but inexpensive mattress then Beauty Ortho is for you. For an adult of my size I would expect a Beauty Ortho mattress to give me 4 to 5 years service.
Jazz: Uses the same strong 12.5 gauge spring, but to give strength without the hardness the Jazz has much thicker and harder wearing microfibre padding to provide both support and comfort and is 10" deep. Jazz is covered in an attractive mint and cream stripe damask cover. For an adult of my size I would expect a Jazz mattress to give me 5 to 6 years service.
Saturn: A very strong 12.5 gauge spring mattress that will give you many good years of service, even my next door neighbour has the Saturn and he weighs 17 stone. The Saturn has an orthopaedic open coil spring system inside but doesn't have the very hard feel that can be uncomfortable especially if you aren't used to hard mattresses. The Saturn combines the strong spring unit with "Superbond" upholstery, extra thick polyester that is compressed to provide durability, it will last longer before you can feel the springs, the Superbond is held in position by a traditional buttoning method, this isn't just a quilted mattress. The Saturn is a 10" deep mattress and is covered in an attractive white damask cover with flower print cover and has air vents and also handles for easy turning. For an adult of my size I would expect a Saturn mattress to give me 7 to 8 years service.
Restoflex Body Comfort: For those of you who prefer a non sprung mattress but still want strength and durability our Reflex foam Body Comfort mattress is our best selling alternative to spring mattresses, my own daughters have these on high sleeper beds as they are strong, firm, but not as deep (8" deep) as a traditional spring mattress. It has a solid, high density, reflex foam interior, a soft microfibre top, covered in a quilted damask cover. For an adult of my size I would expect a Body Comfort mattress to give me up to 10 years service.
Rhapsody: The Rhapsody mattress is the first in our best selling range of pocket sprung mattresses which comes with all the strength of the Saturn model but by using a 1000 (in a 150cm size) individually pocketed spring system, each spring is individually wrapped so that it moves independently of it's neighbours, the feel is slightly softer. When you lay on a pocket sprung mattress each spring adjusts to the pressure of you body, lay on your back and it will mold around your bottom but stay higher to support the small of your back, if you prefer to sleep on your side the mattress alters to the shape of your hips whilst contouring the rest of your posture. Our Rhapsody mattress has a buttoned cover to prevent the fillings moving away from the pocket unit. The Rhapsody is approx 10" deep and is delivered in an attractive white with flower print cover and has air vents and also handles for easy turning. For an adult of my size I would expect a Rhapsody mattress to give me 7 to 8 years service

Frequently asked questions:
"I read your mattress description and I am heavier than you, will the mattress last as long?" Sadly no, I have to be honest and say that the heavier you are the quicker you will wear out any mattress, if you would like some more assistance give me a call on 0113 243 3616. or if you have any bed related questions get in touch. We have beds of different heights, sizes, special sizes, even to fit Ikea beds.
"Are they easy to put together?" Yes, they come in pieces for easy delivery and to get them up your stairs and take me 15 minutes to put together, however I haven't needed to read instructions for beds in years so allow yourself 30 minutes. You can do it by yourself but a bit of help makes the job quicker.
"Which type of base is strongest, my kids are always breaking them?" The best thing you can do to protect a base is buy the strongest mattress you can to spread the load, my kids can break any base, sorry it was one of their friends that did it not them! So don't use a budget mattress as there isn't much strength in them WHEN they get jumped on.
"Do bed frames rattle?" Yes, if you don't tighten them up, wood or metal frames come with an allen key for easy assembly but keep it in a safe place so you can tighten the bolts when required
