Retailing at £400, these Phase Linear Opus products are not cheap pieces of equipment; however as we have come to expect from Phase Linear products (especially top end ones like these) it puts in a blinding performance in terms of sound quality and has an incredible amount of power in reserve. The use of Class T circuitry allows these compact little amps to produce a serious amount of power that defies the size of the amp casing. With 1x675wrms or 2x175wrms, the Opus 2 would be perfect for running a powerful sub or a powerful set of components with masses of headroom.

Now, after having a look around some established car audio retailers for new 2 channel amps, It is clear that for the price NOTHING can be bought that will come close to this amp in terms of build quality, sound quality or power output. As you can see, on every occasion the Opus 2 puts out more than twice the power in stereo mode and over 3 times the power when bridged. Moreover, Having had experience with all the above amps, I can tell you that the build, finish, usable functions (e.g subsonic filter) of the Opus 2 puts it in another league to the 3 mentioned above which is also the case with regards to sound quality.

In short, this is a very, very high quality and powerful amp that will sound delicious, being sold at a price that would buy you a run of the mill low powered amp. If you are looking for a 2 channel amp with a combination of sound quality and masses of controlled power, then in my opinion the Opus 2 is the ideal candidate and at this price, only a fool would overlook it.
