As recommended by midwives

  • A blend of the highest quality, cold pressed, natural Sweet Almond, Wheatgerm and Vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol) oils
  • No nasties - no preservatives, chemical residues just natural vegetable oils
  • Daily massage of the perineum using this blend of oils can prevent or reduce tearing during birth
  • The 50ml supplied here should be adequate for massage from 3-9 months, twice a day as only a few drops are used at a time
  • The oil can also be effectively rubbed into your bump to ease the itching of tight, stretched skin although we do offer an oil specifically designed to help with stretch marks

Description and Uses

  • It is recommended that perineal massage is started as soon as possible after learning you are pregnant, although it can still be effective when started late in pregnancy
  • I recommend massaging the perineum (area of skin behind the vagina) twice a day with a few drops of oil on your fingertips
  • This kind of massage is thought to increase the elasticity of the skin and therefore reduce the risk or tearing or episiotomy during labour
  • A personal recommendation!  With my first child I suffered a 2nd degree tear and needed internal and external stitching which caused me great discomfort and reduced my mobility after the birth. With my daughter I used perineal massage and did not need any stitches at all despite the speed with which she was born!
  • Mum’s who have contacted me after the birth have been really impressed by the difference massage with this oil has made to the degree of tearing and subsequent discomfort they have suffered
