A very fine impressionist painting by Alicia Parr depicting a seascape view of Pendower Beach in Veryan Cornwall with small children paying on the beach near the sea. The painting has a vibrant use of colour and is a very accomplished work. The painting is in very fine condition with no imperfections. The painting is mounted behind glass and presented in a giltwood frame that is also in very fine condition. The painting is titled verso. The painting is signed lower right.
Alicia Parr born in 1931 in Cornwall. Parr has always lived and worked in St.Ives. She started drawing and painting as a child and has always followed that pursuit. Parr’s early education always had a strong bias towards the arts. She studied in graphic design, and fine art that confirmed that painting was her primary passion. Parr has held many one-man exhibitions over the years that have proved to be very popular in the U.K and Spain. Parr’s paintings combine impressionist seascapes with figures on the coast of Cornwall. Parr makes paintings happy and fun filled and loves to use bright vibrant colours to reflect the fun and excitement of the children at play. Parr’s paintings consist mainly of 'little people' enjoying themselves, and in a lot of her paintings she reflects the good times she had as a child. Now aged 77 and Parr continues to paint seascapes and feels she contributing happiness and fun into art. Parr's paintings are very sought after and have grown in popularity over the years.
