Superb Pencil Drawing of Two Abstract Nudes signed Picasso dated 8.9.54
Wonderful pencil/graphite drawing of 2 abstract nude women seated with a complex abstract background. Typical of the fifties style of Picasso's work these women are elegant and graceful and bring to mind egyptian imagery. The woman on the right bears a resemblance to Genevieve Laporte, a young woman with whom Picasso was having an affair whilst living with Francoise Gilot during the 1950's.
This drawing was acquired in the south of France during 1993 at a private sale, there is no documentation (COA or provenance) so please ask questions before bidding.
The piece will be sold as is and unframed and without reserve, it measures 34.8 x 25.6cm.
