"Sea World"- The World of everlasting ocean

The oceans measure 360 million square kilometres, 2.4 times the surface area of all land on Earth. The history of the oceans goes back to immediately after the birth of the Earth, approximately 4.6 billion years ago. A large amount of rain continue for years and cooled the seas of red hot magma that covered the surface of the Earth, forming the oceans. It is believed that all living organisms on the earth originally came from the bottom of the ocean. The oldest known fossils, discovered in Australia, are of bateria, thought to have lived in the sea bed at a depth of more than 1000 metres. Maki-e "Sea World" depicts inhabitants of the ocean with the theme "eternity", at this time of ongoing environmental destruction due to global warming. The blue ocean world with fish centred around a turtle, a symbol of long life, is mystically expressed using the sophisticated Raden mother-of-pearl inlay technique.

The Pelikan logo is on the crown along with limited edition number and artist's signature are drawn in by hand using the Maki-e technique. The "Sea World" is worldwide limited edition of only 88. Each fountain pen is encased in a beautiful traditional Japanese paulownia wood pen box.
