Pears' Soap - Die-cut Trompe'loeil Bookmark Sealing Wax
This listing is a 7 3/8" x 1 1/4" die-cut trompe'loeil bookmark, an advertising tradecard for Pears' Soap. It is from a series of bookmarks depicting items associated with letter writing including sealing wax, stampers, and more. This listing is a bookmark die-cut with the shape of sealing wax at the base marked "Pears' Soap". A hand at top pointing downward is die-cut to allow for placement on the page of a book. The hand has a quill pen that scrolled the caption Matchless for the complextion Reverse promotes the product. c1890. Condition: minimal edge wear. Fine color. See additional image below. Buyer pays shipping. We ship through the Postal Service and recommend insurance on your purchase, as we cannot accept responsibility for lost or damaged goods. If payment is not received within two weeks of the completion of the auction, we reserve the right to relist or sell the item to the underbidder. We prefer PayPal, but gladly accept checks and/or moneyorders.

A Few Words on Postage Rate Changes - As you are most likely aware the US Postal Service has raised it's rates effective 5/14/07. As a result we've had to increase our rates accordingly, as a new class of mail has been introduced for Envelopes with Stiffeners. We mail all of our items enclosed in plastic with two cardboard stiffeners to protect the ephemera, so what previously was first class mail with a base fee of 39 cents for the first ounce is now a 97 cent for the first ounce. We are always willing to combine mailing costs and/or provide media rate when available.
