This Tureen Made in London in 1811.

A Superb Georgian Sterling Silver Vegtable Tureen.  Made in London, in 1811, by Paul Storr.  With the great benefit of a charming Engraved image of milking cow "LILY" Inscribed 'Cork Agricultural Society for Best Durham 1841'.  Gadrooned top in heavy silver, no lip for a lid, so none missing.  This is a complete item.  On an ovoid stepped and gadrooned foot.  This is the usual very good quality of make and design from Paul Storr.  Not too ornate with large areas of plain silver a rather RARE item with a great deal of charm.  Typically made in a very good weight of silver giving a feeling of value and wealth.  A match with the sauceboat currently being sold.                  

At this time in Paul Storr's life he had recently been made a partner in The Rundell and Bridge company selling silver to The Royal Family and with excellent trade connections around the world.

Condition:

The Marks:  All Well Struck. Botttom half of PS missed the boat, but still clearly him.  

The Tureen:  Good.  No repairs.  An indentation on the inside where one of the handles joins the body. Surface scratching to gilt and areas of rub.  Few small inconsequential dinks.  The interior of the dish is used.  Nothing dramatically awful.
