UK singer/keyboard player, Paul Carrack, remarkable music career includes stints in Squeeze, Roxy Music and even the Smiths--he contributed keyboards to the indie-legends debut album--but solo success finally arrived for Carrack during the late 1980s. As an unassuming personality, it seemed that he would only be remembered as the man who sang "How Long" in the pub-rock band Ace--a UK Top 20 hit in 1974, and a number 3 in the US charts in 1975 story--before being enlisted as lead singer of Mike And The Mechanics in 1985. His distinctive voice was heard on two major hits, "Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)" from 1986 and "The Living Years" the following year. He stepped outside the band in the mid-90s with an excellent solo album, BLUE VIEWS, that spawned two hit singles--a beautiful reworking of "How Long", and the equally fine "Eyes Of Blue"--and gave him the critical recognition he has long deserved. SATISFY MY SOUL further established the songwriting partnership he has developed with former Squeeze colleague, Chris Difford.
