Parry Contemporary Expressionist Watercolour Painting

This is an excellent English Expressionist watercolour dating from the late 20th Century period.

The abstract depicts a fabulous expressionist, almost 'fantasy' landscape with golden yellow blue and green hues. This is a fabulous painting, very unusual, the artist having used a variety of fine brush work and mixture of washes. The stark brush and bushes are depicted in an almost mystical form, the mass to the right almost appearing to look like a mythical lion or tiger. Beyond the landscape gives way to mountains and hills, in silhouette, beneath a wonderful yellow blue clouded sky. This is a beautiful expressionist contemporary painting by this talented and modernist artist.

The work is signed "Parry" to the lower right. The watercolour probably dates to around last 10 years.

The work is set off by a frame of pine with plain moulded decoration, and finished in gilt. The frame is contemporary to the work. The watercolour is mounted on board. The watercolour is in good condition. The frame has a few scuffs and chips consistent with age. The work measures - approx 21 X 24 inches (53.34 X 60.96cm) when framed. The image measurements are- approx 17 X 19 inches (43.18 X 48.26cm).
