Panasonic BD35 BD55 Blu-ray DVD multi-region upgrade

This upgrade chip will allow your Panasonic Blu-ray player to play DVD's from all regions (1-6) and Blu-ray discs from all regions (A, B and C).

For DVD's the region selection is automatic. For Blu-ray discs the region is selected manually by pressing button 1,2 or 3 on the player's remote control while the player is in standby mode. The player's firmware can be upgraded as normal, without affecting the multi-region ability.

The upgrade is compatible with the following Euro model (originally region 2/B) Panasonic Blu-ray players:

Fitting involves connecting the chip to the player by soldering 6 wires, or only 2 wires if the chip is soldered directly to the main board as shown in the picture.

Warning: Modifying your player will invalidate any existing warranty. The upgrade is difficult to fit, requiring soldering of small surface mount components and therefore fitting should only be carried out by those with the appropriate experience. A low power (15-25W) soldering iron with very small tip is essential. If you don't have the required tools and experience do not attempt to fit this upgrade yourself as it's very likely that you will damage your player.
