Item Details:  Pair of Profusely Carved Oak Glastonbury Chairs c1900. Crafted from solid oak, these chairs would make wonderful feature items in any home and are sure to become real conversation pieces. One is carved with the word “Heroism” and the other “Justice”. The former has the hand carved text “Manly fortitude shall subdue the Earth. The Will accomplishes everything that it does not desire. With the lobe of comrades” The chair carved justice has Latin text and also “ Thirsters after justice shall drink its spirit. Liberty is obedience to the Law”.

Both chairs are in excellent condition with no breaks, repairs or worm damage.

Measurements: Each chair measures 27 inches (69cm) wide x 26 inches (66cm) deep x 33 inches (84cm) high. 

Payment: Preferred payment is cash on delivery or collection, a cheque in advance, Bank Transfer or Pay Pal if unable to pay the other ways.

Delivery or Collection: (Mainland UK): The winning bidder is more than welcome to collect but if that is not possible I will deliver at a cost of 35p per mile from Sudbury in Suffolk. The charge is one way and you are not charged for the return journey. Shipping Overseas: You are more than welcome to arrange your own Shipping Company but if that is not possible I will make the arrangements for you. You will be charged what I am charged and there are no additional charges for my time in organizing this for you. Costs: Ireland £150 to £200, USA £850 to £1,000, France/Belgium/Luxembourg £300 to £400, Germany/Holland/Italy/Spain/Portugal £400 to £500. For shipping within Europe there is an extra charge for insurance that is 2% of the goods value. Additional items to the same address carry a reduced shipping charge.
