Peter and William Bateman Georgian Sterling Silver Waiter Made at the Bunhill Row Workshop, London, in 1814. A Superb Georgian Sterling Silver Waiter. Made by in London, in 1814, by Peter and William Bateman. A Heavy Circular Waiter with a Gadrooned border with Shell and Floral decoration. On three Claw feet, each decorated with a lion mask and fruit. This ia a very good sized salver from the great Bateman dynasty of Georgian Silvermiths. In a decent weight of silver benefiting from a very good decorative border. The styling of which is more like the decorative plates in David Shures book plate LXXX1 than the salvers that he shows which are a little plainer. So this salver of great interest to collectors. Usual surface scratching but overall this salver is very good. Condition: The Marks: All Well Struck. The Waiter: Very Good. No splits, dents or repairs. Sits flat. Hallmarks:
