PURE SHEA BUTTER – beauty treatment for hair and skin

The Shea oil has excellent regeneration properties on hair as it stimulates the epidermis. Shea Butter has been used in Africa for over 5,000 years for treating hair and skin disorders. The Butter is very effective on dried split hair, or hair damaged by repeated chemical applications. The product is designed to be highly absorbent on hair and does not mark the clothing or pillowcase.

Shea Butter can be used as a facial moisturiser, a hand cream, aftershave or massage cream for the whole body. It is rich in vitamins A, E & F and safe to use on the orbital eye area. It evens skin texture and returns lustre to skin and hair.

The pure Shea Butter is used extensively by the local hospitals for use in the treatment of burns, as it is readily absorbed by the damaged skin.

ABOUT US

Kahangi Estate is situated in the foot hills of the Ruwenzori Mountain range in Western Uganda near the District town of Fort Portal. The Estate has a long and colourful history; it was founded in the mid 1920s as a coffee estate. After the Wall Street crash of 1929 and the subsequent collapse of coffee prices the Estate changed hands became the property of Countess Stead, daughter in law to the notable British journalist W.T Stead. Under the management of Countess Stead the Estate pioneered the production of tea, a crop which was later to become the backbone of the local economy in the area. In 1969 the Estate changed hands again and took on the role of a guest house for Abercrombie and Kent. This period was short lived and the Estate was expropriated by the Government of Uganda during the brutal years of the Idi Amin Government. In the 1980s the Estate was abandoned and the buildings and land deteriorated until 2000 when Agro-Eco (U) Ltd purchased the Estate. The Farm house and tea estates have been restored and new crops planted. The Estate has once again provided much needed employment opportunities for the surrounding communities.

In an effort to boost local incomes by adding value to the crops produced locally the Estate has installed capacity process oils for cosmetics. The Estate has high quality German processing equipment for the fixed oils and a top quality Italian stainless steel still for the essential oils. All the oils are filtered to the highest standard. Inspections of the products have been made by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards and the Natural Chemotherapeutic Research Laboratory (Ministry of Health).

The oils after processing are stored in sealed stainless steel vats, this keeps the oils free from contamination. Filter is conducted using a purpose built filter press using filters of food grade specifications. The company endeavours to create as many employment opportunities as possible. The product labelling is designed and printed at the production unit. The oils are packed at the farm and where appropriate containers are induction sealed to keep products fresh and tamper free. The soaps are shrink wrapped at the farm into the soap boxes made at the farm.

The Estate produces a wide range of ready to use oils, creams and soaps. The company also supplies processed oils to other manufacturers of cosmetics. Production of the oils is conducted in an environmentally friendly way. Seeds which are grown on the Estate for processing are cultivated without the use of artificial inputs.

The item must be unused and the seals intact to qualify for a refund or exchange.

If you have changed your mind after the item has been dispatched, please email us within 7 days of the purchase (not delivery) and we will offer you an exchange of the product, excluding all postage and packaging fees, or a refund where an administration fee of 20% of the value will be charged (not postage and packing).

You the customer are responsible for the cost of returning the item, and proof of postage is recommended, as refunds or exchanges will not be given until the item has been received by us.

In the unlikely event your item should arrive damaged, you will need to send an email advising us of the damage, and on confirmation from us return the damaged item, and all packaging, before we can send a replacement. The cost of returning the item will be reimbursed.
