This is my 1973 Puch Maxi S (suspension front and rear). Just passed it's MOT last week, there is no road tax. Not in bad condition, it hasn't been used in anger since 1995 and has suffered a bit in storage - chrome isn't brilliant and the paintwork has a little surface rust here and there as you can see in the photos, seat cover has a little split at the back. Starts up easily but splutters a bit after a few yards, seems to be running too rich. Checked all the obvious things like the carb but the exhaust seems a bit more throaty than a Maxi normally does. Put a brand new Puch baffle in there, still sounds noisy and runs the same. Far too many other things to work on so it has to go!
All very original, very cheap and fun transport if you can sort it out, plus the benefit of a years MOT.
V5 is presently in Swansea being changed into my name, should be back here soon but of course I wouldn't expect you to pay or pick up the bike untill I actually have it in my hand. Obviously collection only, low £25 start and the auction will run till the end. If you have less than 5 feedbacks please make contact before you bidding or your bid will be cancelled. I am out of the country with no internet access untill Thursday 22nd, so will be able to answer questions and let you see it after that date. Thanks for your time.
On 23-May-08 at 16:01:18 BST, seller added the following information: Quick update - think I might have found the problem - decompressor valve is slightly bent and not seating properly, going to get another and replace it, so might as well end the auction early. Many thanks for all your interest, we'll be back soon!
