Decorating with Art
There are many ways to incorporate artwork into the decorating scheme of your child's room. First, choose a color for the room. The color will then help you to determine a theme. For instance if you choose blue you can easily introduce a sailing, beach, maritime, or nautical theme. Blue can be water or sky. It is a great color for either a boy or girl. Once you have chosen a color, you can then look for appropriate bedding that compliments your color.
Stencil A Design
An inexpensive way to make your child's room more whimsical and fun is to stencil designs on the wall. Most art stores or home improvement stores have a variety of these available. I suggest that you choose a pattern that is not too dramatic so that it overpowers every other design element you introduce to the room.
Next, I would put up several banks of shelves for all the many toys your child will accumulate. Include a few shelves high on the walls to hold more breakable and display items (you may want to use one of these shelves for displaying paintings.)
Accessorize!
Finally, what makes a room most special for your child is all the unique items that you scatter about. Little stuffed animals, figurines, books, some of my photo frames will look nice. If you have really beautiful photo frames you can use these as display items in the room. And finally, adding paintings to the room puts the final touch on your design, pulling any theme or decorating scheme together.
And don't forget, enjoy the process of decorating. The most important part is that you fill your child's life and room with love.
REMEMBER "BE HAPPY"
