'hands on' experience?
A: Absolutely NOT, every chord in the Chord

A: Probably not, but the whole ethos behind
these guides is to provide a complete chord

wanting to pick up virtually any songbook in the
certain knowledge that he/she will find that
elusive chord in the
Chord Bible, from basic majors and minors up to
exotic extended thirteenths.
Q:
I'm a beginner, will the Portuguese Coimbra
Guitar Chord Bible be suitable for
me?
A: Yes. The Portuguese Coimbra Guitar Chord Bible has a
well balanced selection of easy to play chords,
along with more
advanced
shapes for experienced musicians.
Q: Do you publish a Chord Bible on the
Portuguese Lisboa Guitar as well?
Yes we do. It's available in standard DABEAB tuning.
Q: What's the difference between the two
models and how do I know which one I have?
Firstly, recognition of the two instruments is
very easy. The most obvious difference to the
naked eye is in the headstock design.
The Lisboa (or Lisbon guitar) has a
violin-style scroll at the top, whereas the
Coimbra has a teardrop or diamond-shaped
design.
The Lisboa is also tuned a whole tone
higher than the Coimbra and has more of a
ringing tone to it, in contrast with the
Coimbra's
deeper more resonant sound. The
fingerboard is also generally a little narrower
and has a shorter scale length.
Q: Where
does your Chord Bible Series differ from other
similar books on market today?
A: The first difference is the most obvious. The
Chord Bible Series has at least 1,000 more
chords than
most specialist instrument books up to this
date. The second is the inclusion of a big
selection of slash chords and
moveable chord shapes - additional material not
available in other publications. Lastly, Cabot
Books publishes guides on
fretted instruments NEVER covered before by any
other publisher!
Q: Does having
so many chords make the book a more daunting
prospect for beginners?
A: Not at all. The content is very
straightforward and logical, with the most
frequently used chord types at the beginning of
each
key (i.e. Major, Minor, Seventh etc.).
Q: I'm interested in your
Chord Bibles, but you don't seem to have a book
for my particular instrument.
What are your plans with regard to this?
A: Keep a keen eye open for new Chord Bibles
on eBay. A number of other
guides are in
preparation or are planned for the future. Feel
free to ask for details.
Q: Do you have left-handed
versions of your books available?
A: Not at the moment, but it's a fairly simple
process to print out a few blank chord boxes
(available free from
Cabot Books) and reverse the fingering positions
yourself.
Q: Are your books ISBN

A: Yes.
Q: How can
you publish guides like as these, when the major
publishing groups don't?
A: Cabot Books being a specialist publisher,
