POOLE POTTERY TONY MORRIS CALENDER PLATE APRIL RARE

For sale is this Medieval Calender Plate, the Fourth in the series of the Months of the year is April, designed and produced by Tony Morris. Each plate is individually made by hand in clay and sprayed with a red coat of clay on the face to enrich the final surface. The plate is decorated by a specially trained artist, who signs the work on the back of the plate. The plate has a stained glass window effect, with the picture called `Carrying a Flowering Branch`, a work of old world beauty from a modern technical age. This is an excellent collectors item.

This plate was made in 1973 in a limited edition of 1000, this being number 65 (Numbers 1-500 only available in the United States of America). It comes in its original presentation box that is silk lined, with it`s signed certificate, and measures approx 12.75 (324mm) in diameter. On the back of the plate it has the impressed Poole England stamp and signature S.M.Allen. Rare Plate to find.
