Hand Blown & Cut PONTARLIER Absinthe Glass

This new hand blown & cut glass is the most traditional of the French glasses. It also features the reservoir in the stem to enable correct measurement of spirit.

The perfect glass to take your Absinthe.

Stands 14 cm high, 8 cm diameter bowl, wonderfully made. Smoothed pontil mark evident under foot.

Used in the ritual of Absinthe drinking, where the spoon was balanced across the rim of a glass, and sugar placed on the slotted bowl of the spoon. Iced water was allowed to drip onto the sugar, and into the glass containing a measure of Absinthe. When the drink turns an opalescent shade, it is ready to drink.
