The 18 S- Stem Wound and  Lever Set Elgin National Watch Co B.W.Raymond model 15 jewel and Adjusted Movement -Serial No.5470308 is signed By The Elgin Watch Co.and B.W.Raymond - and is beautifully crisp and clean , in excellent running condition ,keeps very good time with a strong, sweet ,sure action. The TRIPLE hinges are solid as is the stem with the Bow and the crown/winder operating exactly as it should. ( To Set the Time (hands) gently ease out the lever (.25inch) at the 5 position with your fingernail and wind the crown/winder clockwise to the required time- replace the lever - then wind the timepiece clockwise for 5 or 6 turns to set the movement running) The Superbly Double Sunk Elgin National Watch Co. Porcelaine Clear White Dial is in Excellent condition and shows no visible hairline cracks. The subsidiary seconds dial has Black seconds chapters and a Blued Steel  seconds baton. The main hands are the Majestically Elegant Fleur de Lis in Blued Steel which point to Bold Black and Elegant Roman Numeral hour chapters, -this is indeed a very fine dial which is protected by a beautifully worked and stunningly ornate bezel and crystal- a truly handsome Timepiece. The 55mm/2.2inches 14KT  Gold Filled Ornate Hunter Case is Heavy , Extremely Robust and is in Excellent condition with only the expected usual signs of use in her 116 years service. All 3 covers open  then close crisply and firmly.  The front cover springs opens when depressing the Crown, is firm and closes crisply and firmly-it has a Superbly Ornate Design . The rear cover is identical. This shows that the spring and catch are operating perfectly when using the crown/winder. You should always depress the crown when closing the front cover as this will save wear to the Gold on the cover. There are no Personal Inscriptions on this Timepiece. This is indeed a Pocket Timepiece which has been looked after and loved all of her 116 years - she will easily run for at least another century if you cherish and love her- in fact there is no reason why she should not outlast all of your generations with due care and attention. A certainty to appreciate in value your investment will grow and grow. However the hours of pleasure you and your future generations will gain from her is Priceless!!
