THE GAME IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND COMPLETE

RulesThe contents are quite good quality. The cards are not thin and flimsy and will not be torn easily, The pirate ship pieces are quite heavy and not made of plastic.The game map is not the usual board but actually feels more like a proper treasure map ( Not that i have ever had a treasure map before! ). The only gripe i would have is the DVD comes in a cardboard wallet, I do feel they could of used better packaging for this.

AIM OF THE GAME
--------------------------
To win of course!
No really, the aim is to collect your quota of booty that is marked on your treasure card and then to bury it at X marks the spot. To do this you need visit as many of the islands on the map and carry out the challenges or to battle other players and win their booty.

THE GAME MAP
-----------------------
The game map is very important, it is about the size of the usual game board. Along the edges are different numbers which are co-ordinates that you use with the DVD. In the middle you have the sea spaces, islands and fog spaces.
Along the four corners are the home ports, which is where you start the game.

THE DVD
-------------
You can go to the how to play option or go straight to play.
On the main menu you have 4 options. the top one is the co-ordination option that you use after most turns. The you have the 3 other options at the bottom. Left is Trade wind, middle is X marks the spot and right is the fog space.

SETTING UP THE GAME
-----------------------------------
I hate board games that you spend longer setting up than actually playing them. But this one is very quick and easy,
Lay the game map on a flat surface near the T.V, Chose your colour of pirate ship ( here comes the argument ) After they have finally decided who was what colour last time and who's turn is it to be that colour this time! You place your ship on your home port space.
Put all the 3 dice within easy reach
Sort all the cards into seperate piles and shuffle, Deal each player 1 of each Booty cards, 1 Fortune card and 1 treasure hunt card.
Each player looks at their cards and keeps them seceret from the others. Look at your Treasure hunt card and see how much booty you need to find before you can bury it at X marks the spot.
You also need to look at your fortune card which can be a good or bad, They are a bit like chance or community chest in monopoly.
Put the DVD in and wait for the Main Menu to appear. You can either go to the How to play section or go straight to play the game.
Once you are all set up and ready the youngest player goes first, Which of course is sooooooo unfair in my house!

HOW TO PLAY

So now we are ready to play,

MOVING
------------
To move around the board you roll the black dice, Now the dice has numbers up to 5 and then a sort of compass picture which is called a trade wind. If you roll this you go to the trade wind section on the DVD menu and move the amount of spaces that it tells you.
You can move less spaces than you roll, You can't go back on yourself in the same turn or move diagonally. You can't land or move through a space that has another player on. You can't move through a fog space.
Which ever space you land on you need to put the co-ordinates into the enter code section on the DVD.
If you land on a plain sea space you put the co-ordinates in and you may have found sunken treasure or found the Black pearl where you normally end up in jail.
The same with a fog space, Then you have the islands.

ISLANDS
--------------

Port Royal-- You find 4 locked chests and have 1 shot at finding the one with gold in. if you are lucky you will get booty, If not it's of to jail.

Tortuga Island--You play find the booty card, 3 cards get mixed up and you have to pick the right one to get the booty.

Isle de Muerta--- You have 3 coins but only 1 is real. you have to chose the correct one before the time runs out.

Cannibal island---Pick up all 3 dice and you have to get as many numbers as the DVD tells you before time runs out eg five, fives or three , threes.

Pantano river---Spin the crab claw and see what the future holds. Can be good or bad.

Isla cruces--- Three keys appear with a number above them. You are given a riddle and have to work out which number and key is the right one to unlock the chest.
In all these challenges if you lose you either go to jail or rum ruuner island or miss your next turn.

Jail--- If you land in jail you can only get out if you have a jailbreak fortune card, roll an odd number on the dice, bribe a guard by giving one of your booty cards back to the pack or if you get bumped off by another player being sent to jail.

Rum runner island--- The same as jail except there are no guards to bribe.

BATTLE
------------

To battle--- You can only battle if you are near the player and that can be diagonally. You can also play a fortune card if you have one that can increase your attack but beware the defender may also have a defense card.
the attacker has the red dice and the defender has the blue, the attacker must score the highest number to win. If the attacker wins they get to have 3 of your booty cards if the defender wins he gets 1 of yours.

WINNING
---------------
X Marks the spot--- So you have enough booty to win, You need to check your fortune cards to see if you have a Cursed booty card. If you do then you need to go back to your home port to be able to get rid of it. Once you have done that you press the X marks the spot option on the DVD and it will tell you which island you go to , to bury your treasure. And so the race starts, everyone else will try to stop you and if you lose too much booty you will have to build it up again and again press the X marks the spot option. And so you have won you then get to tie everyone else up and make them walk the plank! ( Not really ).
