THE PIERCING COURSE

The couses are run at SAMS TATTOO STUDIO , Worksop whch is in north notts, about 15 miles South from Sheffield, junction 30 of the M1 is about 5 miles away.

We are a friendly crew and will make you feel welcome

People who have attended our course have gained local authority registration, and have been employed within a studio or set up a studio of their own.

However we do recommend you ask your local authority if  completing the home study and then attending the 1 day practical training course will be enough to gain registration.

This is an intensive 1 to 1 day course ( you will be the only student on the day) to learn the basics of bodypiercing where you will get to do 15 to 20 piercings under the supervision of a professional piercer.

Why only a day.....well we feel we can get you to pierce safely in a day,  its not as hard as other courses make out. And we get you to do some work via our home study pack before you come on the course.

We  also use the catheter needle method for piercing which is very safe and an easy method to learn.

Courses are generally run on a saturday and once you have booked your course and your deposit has been received we will send you a hard copy of our training guide to Body piercing, along with a question and answer sheet that you will need to complete before arriving for your course. You will also receive 2 dvd's which show over 5 hours of piercings under studio conditions both above and below waist. This is so you can gain some knowledge  of the piercing industry before you arrive.

We do not charge extra to do a genital piercings, if you want to do them we will try to get a couple of volunteers for you.

ON THE DAY

On arrival you will be welcomed and introduced to Mark, the piercer, who will then explain about the course format.

Your piercing course is both practical and theoretical. You will go thro the guide to ensure you have read  it and started to grasp the fundamentals. The guide covers all aspects of piercing including,

Studio set up

                             Jewellery type and sizes

                             Sterilization and cross contamination

                             Placement

Aftercare and piercing problems

                             Consent, Heath and safety

Licensing and environmental health

                             Clinical waste and sharps disposal.

                      And practical piercing

The piercer will then guide you thro the basics of piercing, showing you how to set up ready for a client, and how to conduct a piercing safely. Marking, clamping and conducting the piercing.

Once confident you will then be supervised in piercing volunteers.  Whilst we try to ensure we cover all types of piercing we cannot guarantee this. I.e., a belly a nipple, an eyebrow a nose a lip etc etc….We encourage you to bring along some friends who can have a free piercing later in the day especially if you want to do genital piercings.

On completion of the course and to a standard of competence you will be given a certificate, along with copies of the consent forms for the piercings you have completed. Photgraphic evidence is also recommended as extra proof so bring a camera.

I am sure that you will gain a lot of information and confidence,  and find the course is a solid foundation to build on for your future. We are always available to give future help and guidance should you need it.

 A one day piercing course would normally cost £400, but you can buy it now for an EBAY discounted price of £350. You may think that this is a lot of money but you will complete approx 20 piercings, on real people, and at £15 to £20 each that would be £300 to £400 worth of piercings completed.  We do not charge for piercings on the day so we get a lot of volunteers.

The fact that we send you a home study pack also means you save money, no added days just to be sat around in a classroom making 1 subject last 3 hours.

We will also give you a contact sheet for all your piercing needs from jewellery to needles which over a period of time will save you thousands of pounds by cutting out the middleman.

So come prepared to be on your feet and piercing none stop for about 5 to 6 hours. We will have a short break for a sandwich and a cuppa. To check available dates or for further enquiries please phone.
