Welcome to this opportunity to purchase a comfortable spacious 2001 Peugeot 406GLX Petrol/LPG Automatic Family Estate car..

I've owned this car since Feb 2009 as a fill-in family car, and have driven 14000 miles with no problems whatsoever

There's 2 previous owners from new on V5 with MOTs going right back, plus some service bills/receipts... (I've bought a 7 seater Shogun Auto needed for family, which leaves this LPG Peugeot 406 GLX Estate Car available for sale...)

This is the first Peugeot I've owned which has been fine. It's fully loaded with all electrics working and extremely comfortable ! Seats are soft cloth, rear seat headrests are present, as are cup holders, working electric front seats, front seat arm rests... interior switch to release petrol cap, and a comprehensive onboard computer controlled from steering wheel column/stick... and a rear parcel slide shelf

The LPG fuel tank is a round donut type approx 40 litres which sits neatly in the spare wheel well, losing no Boot, or loading capacity space. With seats down the load space is Huge, approaching 66 inches long by 40 inches wide by 26 inches high. There was no spare wheel with the car - but I was told spares from scrapyards should only be £25 if wanting one. I've carried a couple of tyre welds.

There's also an audio controls stick by the steering wheel and I think cruise control too but I have never used that. The temperature controlled Air con has been fine ranging from 14 to 30 celcius and is COLD, or Hot if wanted with Winter coming on...

The 2007 MOT on 05/11/2007 costing £426 lists cambelt kit fully changed (79627 miles).. Previous owner to me bought this car in Jan 2006 for £4900.....

There's a fair amount of receipts etc, and MOTs going back to 2004 verifying mileage... When I bought the car from BeSpoke Motors in Feb 2009 there was also an Experian HPI clear report which is included..

There's a few LPG service and works receipts, but I can't see any specific LPG paperwork verifying whether it's multi point or single point, so best to assume single point which is around 5 years old. The LPG is fully automatic and works fine - It is due a full service which costs around £60 as is the car with an MOT also being needed.. which is why the price has been reduced by over £500

Which takes us into the bits needing attention..

MOT needed 15 November 2009. - When last at the garage having the rear exhaust and front suspension arms replaced - I was informed that for MOT it would need new brake pads/discs and at least 2 new tyres. The emissions test should be okay - but intermittantly the "onboard computer" displays a message "Anti-Polution Fault" with typically the ems light being on - I have only been advised that it probably needs a full service - possibly new fuel filters, and "possibly" a Cat to eradicate this issue and have the idle revs etc reset to normal.. - This issue has been present throughout the entire 14000 miles which I have had the car and has not bothered me..

- IF you're the sort of person who does things like brake pads/discs and preowned tyres yourself for less than 33% of the cost of having them done at garages, then the above and a New MOT could prove relatively cheap compared to what I'd be looking at by having a garage do everything.. But in any event this is why I've reduced the desired sale price by over £500..

The only other issue which I'm aware of is that recently the small "driver door Airbag light" flashes indicating that there is a sensor or position fault with the air bag in the driver door. I've not bothered having this looked into.. 

Whilst the above is extremely well detailed - I am not a professional mechanic and this car is sold as seen. IT IS ENTIRELY YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE THE EFFORT TO FULLY INSPECT THIS CAR PRIOR TO PURCHASE AND BIDDING TO SATISFY YOURSELF AS TO IT'S SUITABILITY FOR YOUR NEEDS. Cosmetically...  

Unfortunately you're not buying a brand new £27000 Peugeot 406 GLX Auto Estate for £925 or less.. ! - But an 8 year old preowned car with 117000 miles. Whilst the interior is very tidy and comfortable (Non smokers and no pets have been carried) - The Exterior has a number of typical minor dints, scratches & metalic paintwork imperfections... Washed and polished up it looks fine to me and has been an excellent workhorse, having a HUGE rear loading capacity and Family estate car. But please remember the digital photos on ebay always tend to make cars look much more shiny and newer than they are on closer inspection..

I have never been bothered by visual cosmetics and if you are in any way fussy about such things, then consider going back to search and keep looking.. ;)

In particular cosmetically - this car has had a knock to the rear boot which has left an 8 inch long dent not very deep, and other surrounding dints including a slight 1 inch dent to solid rear bumper. This was NOT subject to any insurance claims
