This is a great photo showing a fired up Peter McNeeley at the weigh in for his fight with Mike Tyson. This was Tyson's first fight after being released from prison.

'Hurricane' Peter McNeeley will be best remembered as Mike Tyson's first opponent after being released from his prison sentence. The fight made McNeeley a household name in boxing as the bout received massive media attention throughout the world and McNeeleys great personality shone throughout the build up. He talked a great fight and indeed took the fight to 'Iron' Mike from the opening bell but was put down twice from huge punches and his manager stepped into the ring to save him from further punishment even though Peter himself was too willing to carry on. In his next fight after Tyson McNeeley won the USBF Heavyweight title. Possessing power in both hands Peter scored 25 first round victories. More first round knockouts even than Mike Tyson! His explosive style and exciting ring persona attracted many fans all over America and especially from the Irish community and his fights in Boston regularly had huge audiences. McNeeley is from a good boxing family and his father Tom fought the great Floyd Patterson and was stopped in the 4th round after being knocked down an amazing 11 times! Also Peter's Grandfather, also named Tom, was a professional boxer and also represented the USA at the 1928 Olympic Games.
