EXCELLENT - sound copy, spine unbroken, only minor edge wear to cover, pages crisp, clean and securely bound. No inscriptions, stains, foxing or tanning.

VERY GOOD - sound copy, spine creased but binding secure, little wear to cover, occasional minor page flaw such as crease at top corner. No inscriptions, stains, foxing or tanning.

GOOD - spine creased but binding secure, normal degree of shelf/handling wear to cover, possible wear to pages such as foxing, tanning or creasing. The text is unaffected by this. Clean and sound copy with some cosmetic wear.

FAIR - shows clear signs of wear and age, possibly heavily creased spine, damaged binding, foxing, tanning, creasing, inscriptions, annotations, slight musty smell. Any loose pages will have been reinforced with invisible tape, inscriptions removed with correction tape. Acceptable reading condition.
