PAIR OF ANTIQUE CLOISONNE VASES
Here are a super pair of antique Cloisonne vases, beautifully decorated with birds and butterflies. They have tuqoise interiors and this is matched by the colour on the bases.
They are 'proper' pair, as can be seen by the direction of the birds and buttterflies. Each is decorated with a different bird on the front and back - one pair in flight, and the other pair resting.
The vases also have flower and blossom decoration and are finished with decorative borders.
They stand at approximately 10.5" tall (26 cms). The range of colours is very attractive, as is the overall decoration.
These are thought to be quite antique and came from a collection belonging to the estate of a Cambridge University academic.
Although they are in good overall condition and display very well, over the years they have sustained a little damage, mainly to just one of them. However, this is only noticable on very close examination:
Slight bend to the metal rim at top and base to one vase. The same vase has had a 'ding' to one part of the shoulder, resulting in a loss to a small part of the enamelling. This is shown in close up in one of the images above (image 7). The other vase has a very tiny 'scuff' to the shoulder, but this can only be seen under very close examination.
These are pretty minor flaws, and are mentioned for full accuracy of description, though really do not notice at all unless very closely examined.
They are a lovely pair of vases, very old and beautifully enamelled.
They are quite light in weight, weighing just under 1 kg together.

All items are normally dispatched within 2 working days of cleared payment being received. Please note that items paid for by cheque will not be dispatched until bank clearance has been received. A full range of national and international postage options are available including recorded / signed for delivery. All UK items are insured for up to £34. Additional insurance for items over this amount is recommended, though buyers have the option whether to purchase this additional insurance or not.
International buyers are offered the opportunity to purchase insurance if they wish. Both airmail and surface mail options are available for most items.
A certificate of posting is kept for every item. In the unlikely event of your purchase being 'lost in the post', I will be happy to assist you to claim compensation from the carriers, but cannot take responsibility for the carrier's failure to deliver. All items are carefully packed with suitable packaging to ensure safety. Refunds cannot be made for items which are broken due to the fault of carriers, but assistance is given with any claim you may wish to make.
