The padded Freedom sling is unique in it’s design as the specially placed padded rails provide your baby or toddler with extra comfort whilst breastfeeding, sleeping or being carried in the hip carry position. This sling was developed using my personal experience of breastfeeding ALL twelve of my babies (not always problem free and included tandem feeding) and therefor was designed specifically to help overcome any difficulties that breastfeeding may bring, to help make it more relaxed and enjoyable for both mum and baby and most especially for those of you like me who have to be completely handsfree to attend to other children or carry out other tasks whilst still being able to feed your baby safely,comfortably and with privacy. Whilst other padded slings have lightweight padded sides that are useful for feeding, bare in mind that this sling has been specifically designed for the purpose of providing your baby with COMFORTABLE, SECURE, HANDSFREE breastfeeding and also to provide bottlefed babies more comfort whilst being fed in the sling.

Safety is of paramount importance for me and my children and for yours too, that's why at Freedom Slings we use only the best fabrics and safety tested rings. The lightweight NON-WELDED aluminium rings that we use are specially imported and manufactured for baby slings. Other sellers still use British made welded stainless steel rings that cost 10 times less than the rings we use (and still charge the same price for their slings, in some cases even more!!)
Why do we think it's worth it? Well apart from weighing less and looking nicer, these rings have been specifically tested and made for baby slings. They have no weld (A WELD IS BY IT’S VERY NATURE THE WEAKEST PART OF THE RING) and since the weight of your baby is borne by the rings, it’s not worth risking your baby's safety by using a sling made with cheaper rings. Our rings have been independently tested and still didn't break on a load of 3,000lbs, other sellers using the welded stainless steel rings will tell you the have been durability tested for more than 400kgs, however tested on what? They are made by companies in the UK and they do not make them specifically for baby slings. Slings are made with beautiful colour co-ordinated rings and are the ONLY rings as recommended in Mothering magazine. The rings are weld-free alluminium which makes baby wearing more comfortable as well as increasing safety dramatically. Did not get name of guy who was so helpful when I rang the other day. I had wanted the murrons pouch due to simplicity but as size difference was so great between me and my wife I thought it best to check out first. Whoever took my call is a star! How it came to be
The Freedom Sling is the most versatile sling around. As the mother of twelve (12) children aged 22yrs to 2years, I must have seen and tried every type of baby carrier on the market including backpacks, baby pouches, etc. and took me until the birth of my last baby to find one that meets both mine and my baby’s needs.
When I first discovered the Ring Sling my first impressions were that it was too good to be true, the simple design of it made me doubt its capabilities, but it took only one wearing of this style with my baby to appreciate that for all its simplicity this style actually really works, it is the most comfortable, versatile and practical baby carrier I have ever worn.
With eleven other children to look after, I need to have a carrier which I can rely on to be comfortable, allow me to breastfeed my baby on the move, not restrict my movements ie. I need to be able to use both arms whilst wearing it, be suitable for all the adults at home who want to use it to carry Saoirse ie. Mum, Dad, older brothers and sisters, easy to change Saoirse's position from upright to sleeping without removing the sling and finally as Saoirse does not like to be put down in her cot to sleep during the day one that is easy to transfer a sleeping baby from sling to bed without disturbing her.
With all of this in mind I designed the Padded Freedom Sling to do all of this and more.
I have worn Saoirse in her sling since she weighed just over 5lbs and during this time also worn Faith, then aged 3 1/2 years. The sling is just as comfortable to wear with a new born as it is with an older toddler.
I have added a deep pocket in the tail (I used mine to carry, a nappy, travel wipes, my purse, mobile phone and Saoirse's cup when I go out shopping which saved me carrying a bag!!).
Freedom Slings can hold and support your baby to allow for breastfeeding on the move ( in my case that usually meant pushing a shopping trolley, seeing to Faith answering the door etc.!!!)
From sitting to Fed..... Sleeping to Bed..... without being disturbed!!
As can be seen from the above pictures, if your baby becomes hungry or falls asleep in the sling there is no need to remove either the baby or the sling to change position, all that is required is a simple one handed adjustment of the rings. If you then need to transfer your baby to either their cot or perhaps car seat, as you can see from above this again is easily done without disturbing your baby, the sling can then be used as a cosy blanket if required.
