A 63-page Osprey (Aircraft of the Aces series) SB book entitled SPITFIRES OVER THE MEDITERRANEAN & NORTH AFRICA. As the first Spitfire variant to see extensive service outside Britain, the Mk V first fought the Axis alliance over the deserts of North Africa and the waters of the Mediterranean. Later it was replaced by the Mk Vs, VIIs, VIIIs, IXs, XIIs and XIVs, flown by pilots from all over the British Empire, joined by Americans, Poles, and the Free French. .
This book is number 13 of this popular series of books by the respected Osprey Publishing. Over the years Osprey have become well-known for producing some of the best reference books within the field of aviation and military history. Although this book isn't big, it's packed full of useful information relating to the aircraft covered, and some of the famous pilots that flew them. Well presented and illustrated throughout.
This book was published by Osprey in 2000, and is in excellent condition.
