Speed Map of Northamptonshire by John Speede


This lot is an original very detailed antique map of Northamptonshire by John Speede C1676 edition sold by Thomas Bassett & Richard Chiswell. The map comes hand color and is offered in fair condition with a repair to the center fold which has been reinforced on the back, (see photos) apart from this repair the map is in good condition and has been repaired very very well and it is un noticeable to an untrained eye, the last photo below shows the map held up to the light. This maps has an amazing amount of detail and is ready to frame and hang in any home or gallery wall, full text on the reverse will allow glass on both sides. Copies of this map sell for upto £800 . The approx overall sheet size is 55cm x 43cm, I will be rolling this map in a thick tube for shipping
