This sale is for an interesting set of Victorian memorabilia consisting of A Watercolour of Thistles and Butterfly and An Albumen Photograph of a Cottage.
The page measures 285 x 355mm The plants are painted directly onto the page and the colours are still fresh and bright. They are annotated in pencil: Thistle - Bude - 29th August 1882 and Sea Thistle - Bude - 2nd September 1882
The photograph, housed on the reverse of the watercolour, measures 120 x 160mm. The subject shows the back door of a cottage with 3 people stood at the door - one a maid in uniform holding a small child. There is no annotation of this image, but it is likely to be from the same place as the watercolours.
