Orange Juice - The Orange Juice (Polydor OJHP2) 1984.

Formed in the Glasgow suburb of Bearsden and originally known as the Nu-Sonics becoming Orange Juice in 1979 with a line-up of Edwyn Collins and James Kirk (guitar, vocal), David McClymont (bass) and Steven daly (drums). The first four singles were released on the legendary Postcard label. In 1982 they signed to Polydor to release their first album"You Can't Hide Your Love Forever" which charted at No.21. there were tensions within the band which led to Kirk and Daly leaving to be replaced by ex-Josef K guitarist Malcolm Ross and Zeke Manyika on drums and percussion. The first four singles for the label all charted around the top fifty until the next single "Rip It Up" from the second album of the same name cracked the top ten at No.8, the album went to No.39. They released four more singles, again all hovering around the top fifty, a third album "Texas Fever" was released in March 1984 reaching No.34. By the time this final album was recorded the band were down to a core duo of Collins and Manyika with backing from Dennis Bovell who contributes keyboards and rhythym guitar, Johnny Britton on guitar,  and Clare playing bass. The vinyl is housed in its original paper liner and sleeve.
