A very attractive and desirable Oliver Cromwell crown by Thomas Simon, 1658/7 (8 over 7), laureate draped bust left, reverse crowned arms of the Protectorate, date above, edge inscribed in Latin which translates as 'Let no one remove these (letters) from me under penalty of death). Die flaw evident which is a standard feature of this type because at the very early stage a flaw started in the die near the O of Oliver and slowly stretched right across the bust (S.3226; N.2745; ESC.10). Evidence of old gilding, good VF.
