You are bidding on a stuffed camel made by Mary Meyer of Townshend, Vermont .
Size: 8" tall x 9 1/2" wide nose to tail.
The tag shows some age because the word Mary is almost worn away. I don't know how old it is, but the attached tag says all new materials, contents: acrylic, so it has to be after the law about stuffing toys with all new materials whenever that was. Also, acrylic was not used until the late 1940s. I Googled the Mary Meyer toy manufacturer and found a history of the company which is celebrating its 75th anniversary now. It began in 1933. You might want to read what I read. The newer stuffed animals offered for sale now do not look this detailed.
Made from 21 pieces not counting the ears. There is some airbrushing on the toes, knees, nose, bend of its neck, and top of head and hump. The feet look like felt material, while the furry material is meant to look like mohair, but the tag only says all new material and doesn't specify what kind was used for anything but the contents.
Condition: It is clean. One eye has a tiny white spot that looks like a scratch. The eyes feel like they have a backing behind them and are securely attached. The brown mane is a little thin as it rises on the hump.
There is no charge in the mailing calculation for packing materials for this listing. I am recycling a clean box to save you money.
