Old Wooden Indian Printing Print Block Floral Border

This is a lovely example of an intricately hand carved Indian wooden print block used on fabrics depicting a floral border design. It measures 2 1/2" (6 cm) high, 6" (15 cm) wide with a depth of 2 1/2" (6.5 cm) including handle. The first photograph is taken to show the delicate print design better.

All of my print blocks are original, one-of-a-kind pieces and are guaranteed to have been hand made for the use of printing on fabrics. They are hand picked from hundreds available and are of the highest quality and unique designs.

My blocks are vintage used pieces with each being carved from wood. They often show wear including, but not limited to, minor damage to the printing surface, chips, cracks, holes (drilled into the blocks to allow air and excess ink to escape), missing handles, or other damage. They are not perfect pieces otherwise they would not have been sold. A few are of exceptional quality with no damage. In the majority of cases blocks with these imperfections can still be used for printing with the missing parts being touched up with a brush by hand. They are very decorative pieces in their own right. All of our blocks are cleaned thoroughly of any built up dirt and dye residue. They are then polished so that they are ready for use or display and clean to handle on your arrival.

Postage to USA, Canada, Asia etc. takes upto 56 days for surface mail or upto 10 days for airmail.  To send to Australasia postage takes upto 12 weeks for surface mail or upto 10 days for airmail.  To send to Europe airmail post takes upto 5 days.  I can reduce the postage costs on combined items and will inform you of the new price shortly after the end of the auction to give you a choice.
