A large and old curtain tie back in solid brass and good condition. This item is probably Victorian, but there are no identifying marks, except what is presumably a factory design number, G 937, stamped into the reverse of the wall plate. It can be fixed to the wall via two screw holes in the wall plate. The hook is attached to the wall plate with a swivel fitting, which makes it easier to use. When not in use the hook lies flat against the wall, but can accomodate a large curtain, being about a foot (30 cm) long, with a diameter to the hook of 5 in (12 cm) or so. A useable and attractive period item offered without reserve.
