I have a beautiful Old Tupton Bud Vase

which is 8" (21cm) high.

It has a dark blue background with green foliage

with lilac flowers.

 Tube lined work is so beautiful.

Although the company Old Tupton Ware was founded in the United Kingdom in 2002 the search for craftsmen began many years before.

Tubelining is a skill that requires the hand of an artist and the eye of a perfectionist

Tubelining (which is the raised patterns you see on Old Tupton Ware) involves squeezing a very thin line of clay through a nozzle onto the ware being decorated (rather like an icing nozzle)

The piece is then painted by hand and fired three times then the glaze applied - this is the magic formula that achieves the uncomparable colour and depth that Old Tupton Ware excel at.

In 2002 Old Tupton Ware had just three patterns which were the Blue Peony, Fruit and the Pansy design.

The interest and demand these pieces brought worldwide by collectors allowed Old Tupton Ware to bring in more craftsmen to give the loyal customers what they wanted...more patterns to choose from.

In 2004 Jeanne Mc Dougall, a leading designer joined the company and the ranges grew in complexity and beauty of design and by 2008 Old Tupton Ware had produced over fifty patterns.

From a small acorn a great oak tree has grown. Old Tupton Ware is recognised throughout the world as a great British company who have achieved excellence of quality and art design
