For sale is a working Vintage Smiths brown bakelite wall clock

This Smiths clock, I believe was made in the 1940's and was typically in use in schools, offices and railway stations.

The front dial shows Smiths 7 day eight jewel at the top of the face and at the bottom - Made in Great Britain.

The winding mechanism is on the outside of the case (see photo 2).

The clock is house in a brown bakelite case, there are a few fine surface scratches on the case where it has  presumably been cleaned with an abrasive substance, however I have given it a few polishes with bakelite cleaning paste and the scratches are beginning to lift and are really only visible upon very v close inspection.  (see photo 2 & 3)

The clock face measures 6" with an overall diameter of 8".

All in all a lovely vintage clock in good working order

I am sure that this wont make a great deal of difference  - I have just had a look at my listing and realised that I have listed the clock as a seven day 8 jewel movement, it is in fact an eight day seven jewel movement. (I thought it best just to point this out)
