Old French Perigord Hazel Root Corkscrew inscribed "VINS KARAFON"
This old corkscrew is in perfect working order and in great condition for its age. Made out of steel and with a hazel root handle it comes from the Perigord region of France in the South West.
The reason for the Hazel root is that very expensive Perigord Black Truffles grow on these roots in this area of France.
There are many of these corkscrews around but this one is inscribed "VINS KARAFON " which makes it altogether unusual and rare.
There are some reproductions around of this model of corkscrew but this is 100% original and could be up to 60 years old.
The corkscrew handle measures 20 cm, and 12cm from the middle of the handle to the tip of the screw.
