Blanchard Cup Race to Victoria
"Ten of Seattle's crack motor cruisers turned out for the handicap race from Seattle to Victoria on June 2 for the Blanchard Cup. First honors went to R.A. Boucher's "Janelva"....Quent Williams "Kay-Dee" was second, followed by Commodore Griffith's Sueja III, Dr. J.M. Blackford "Sally Bruce", Norman Blanchard "Weepah", S.J. Seidelhuber Mary-Mar-Anne, Stephen Berg "Lillian and E. Michelson "El Mistico". At Victoria, the Seattle yachtsmen were the guests of the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, which was holding the opening regatta of the season on Cadboro Bay. After the arrival of the cruisers, all hands turned out for a good time ashore."
