I used to sell and build these cars so I know this is a very good example although I last drove the car around seven years ago. The car was built by Ken Cauldwell who used his vast experience as a Motor Engineer and used all the resources available to him in his Professional Workshop. You will note that the X1/9 engine was prepared by Avanti Motorsport, well respected tuners of Fiat and Lancia engines.
I am assisting in this sale and would be very pleased to receive any questions about this particular car as well as the Firecat design. The Firecat was a breath of fresh air when it was introduced and many magazines published glowing reports of the car. The Firecat was very well received for it's track performance as well with the tweaked turbo cars capable of handling 270bhp per ton without any performance issues. It was also easy to stop on the way home and do the weekly shop, such is the practical nature of this little car.
I require a deposit of £100 within 24 hours of the end of the Auction by Paypal. The cleared balance of the sale price is required within 7 days of the end of the Auction. There may be some flexibility around when the car can be collected.
The car is advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the Auction early without notice.
Kit cars offer the opportunity to own a sports car without the loading of insurance premiums found with type approved production cars. I will be very happy to email a list of candidate brokers for you to contact. As always, do compare quotes before deciding. The brokers will be aware of the Onyx Firecat as many have been insured in the past.
