With signature of Francis Godfray, Constable or Mayor of St Helier, Jersey.
"At the Assembly of the Principal Inhabitants and Officers of the Parish and Town of St Helier in the Island of Jersey, held on the 4 day of May 1831.
The Assembly feel the sincerest gratification in recording by their present vote the high sense they entertain of the examplary conduct of the reserve companies of the 27th Regiment during the whole of the time they have been quartered amongst them, they consider it therefore incumbent on them publicly to express to Major Geddes, the Officers and privates of that distinguished body their grateful acknowledgment..........etc."
