  • Information:  "Rugby League, 1955.    The Rugby League Cup Final of 1955 was an all north-western event between Barrow and Workington town.  Barrow won the cup for the first time by beating Workington, Cumberland's first winners in 1952, by 21-12.  The north-western sides dominated the game, Barrow playing in three Challenge Cup Finals in 1951, 1955 and 1957 and Workington in 1952, 1955 and 1958.  The two tams are pictured here for 'Picture Post' by W.G. Vanderson in a league match. Workington have just go the ball away from the scrum by Billy Ivison, the Workington captain, seen wearing headgear."

The Nostalgia Postcard Collector’s Club cards were published between 1990-92 and about 1,200 different cards, covering the period 1890-1955, were published. They were printed as postcard style cards with a photograph on the front and an informative note printed across the reverse about the subject of the picture. The pictures published were reproductions of postcards, magazine and newspaper photographs and advertising posters.

I currently have over 1,100 different cards listed on eBay, either as an auction item or as a Buy It Now item in my eBay Shop called Staplehurst Collectables.
