Lovely scarce bronze coin struck within a large set from 1909 to 1952. To note minor circulation wear and tear. Norway was well known on 9th century due to their Norse Vickings, excellent navigators, visiting the northwestern Europe, the Mediterranean, Greenland and North America. They were united with Sweden briefly, and by inheritance in 1380, fell under the rule of Denmark until 1814. Again on that same year became under the rule of Sweden. That union lasted until 1905 when the Norwegian Parliament arranged a peaceful separation and invited a Danish Prince (Haakon VII) to ascend the throne of the Kingdom of Norway. King Haakon VII ruled since 1905 to 1957.During His reign two World Wars were happened, the first (1914-1918) and (1939-1945), this last, their territory was invaded and occupied by the German Army and the Royal Family went into exile, though some Norwegians came underground and fought fiercely the Germans. |
